Peter is an experienced Executive Coach. He specialises in 1:1 coaching with executives from senior board level to young social entrepreneurs. While maintaining a strict focus on the coaching goals, he will challenge, support and act as a thinking partner to help the client create positive and sustained change that will often go much wider than the original objective. When appropriate, Peter is also happy to change roles and mentor from his own experience.
Following his coaching training, Peter worked with Tom Preston to help found the Preston Associates from its inception, and he is proud of its success. Prior to this venture, Peter was a Managing Director with 18 years of board level commercial experience in several major British manufacturing and service companies such as the Rover Group plc, British Aerospace and the Unipart Group.
For 15 years before that, Peter worked in senior central government and was private secretary to two cabinet ministers. He has particular expertise in business start-ups, international joint ventures, corporate strategy and restructuring (including the acquisition and sale of 30 businesses, many by management buy-out) as well as partnering and trading with public sector organisations. As a non-executive board member, he has worked with many companies, including the Unipart Group and Hutchison Telecoms during the creation and rollout of the Orange mobile communications business.
Peter remains available to current and former individual coaching clients and new clients seeking pre-retirement/transition coaching, whilst he changes roles within TPA to become an internal advisor.
